Cultures and reverse culture shock....
Did you ever wonder about people when they wonder why the actully write in their blog, in their blog? Until you get one of your own and think why do i write in this? why must i show my inner thoughts to the whole world? Whats the point? Or maybe you just want to clue in other people into what goes on in your head... the late night ponderings of katie...
But yes i had dinner with stephen tonight... i just don't know what to do anymore when you go out with a guy by yourself anymore! anyway we first went to a movie where he was over a half hour late (i found out later he was out buying me a christmas gift and got caught in traffic... a christmas gift! I havn't seen him in over a year and a half and i get Spiderman2 from him not a cheap gift!) He then paid for my movie ticket (saw a series of unfortunate events), then we went to a really nice resturant he then again paid for dinner. I was in complete shock! He opened doors, guided me through crowds wanted to get me popcorn and drinks after walking to my seat and he thought that everything i said was funny or extreamly profound... I just didn't know how to react... no offense to my lovely male friends in england your great but yeah i guess its because Stephen is southern maybe... they're old die hards on the whole manners with a lady thing... It was a very strange dinner because well he hasn't changed other than he gained weight (he was stick thin because of his illness last time i saw him) and i changed immensely... it was very nice but weird... aw well
On the exciting side i saw my favorite person from my all time favorite show today! When i was waiting for stephen he was waiting for someone and i looked over and realized it was Andrew DanJumbo!!! He smiled at me and started to say something like you would if your the only two people waiting for someone when a couple of middle aged ladies ran over and said I KNOW YOU... your on trading spaces! well he wasn't but iwas amusing. Stephen came along then and the person he was waiting for came along but hey there are alot of famous people from buffalo!

hey Spud, us english boys know how to do manners too!! We just choose to express our manly side instead!!
Glad to hear that you're having fun over there!!
Plenty of stories for you to tell us when we get back to the cold dark nights of Exmouth
take care hon
Matt
I never ment that english blokes don't have anymanners they have loads just a different kind! You know the American whole never hold anything back. Brits just hold onto their cards a little longer (you know ive been here too long when im using poker terms!)
