Cheektowaga... its all in the name

Well i spent the past couple of days in Cheektowaga the great metropolitian city it is.... why you may ask i would spend so much time in a place so oddly name...? Because of family...yes... thats right Cheektowaga is the Wilkolaski capital of the world... its where my grandmothers mother ended up after stepping onto a boat in poland when she was 4 years old,

it was were my grandmother's father and his brother came to after moving from poland to find polish decendent brides. It is also where my great grandfather said goodbye to his brother and newly aquired sister in law as they headed back to poland. My great grand uncle would later die in an nazi consintration camp. Infact all of his children would die there surviving only his youngest daughter and wife.

Its where my grandfather's father stopped running after running away from the joining the russian army that occupied poland at the time and met and married another polish woman.

It was were my grandfather's parents married and lived out their lives. Its where my grandparents grew up, my mother and her siblings grew up, it was where my cousin's grew up and where my brother was born (my mom was the only one to move out until 8 years ago, she was pioneer since she was the first one not to marry a pole yes im a half breed! or a mutt since my dad is an odd mixture). It is also where my aunt now lives.

So i went to my aunts to spend the day with my grandmother, aunt and mother... 4 women three generations all playing the family card game... oh yeah thats right 'progressive rummy'... i won 30 cents just for coming in second.

Today i spent the day there because my mom returned a book on tape to that library and forgot one tape. So my friend Ashica and i took a ride out and decided to have lunch there and go see 'The Brothers Grimm' which was watchable but not amazing...

Tomorrow heading to my brother Marks and visiting rob on the way... should be a pretty interesting day!
